After Easter

Posted this in the Watercolor forum too. Cut and pasted the comments from there. Looks a little pixelated, scanned at 72 dpi.

This was an arrangement on Mom's dining room table. Beautiful overhead lighting. I sketched it and the next day she threw them out because they were wilting. Lost my reference on the translucency. The lighting was such that the plant glowed and the background was pitch black. I actually have shades of blue in the background but the scanner took it all as black. Also lost area top and sides due to scanner size so it looks cramped. Enough whinning.

Vallarta, I'm inclined to agree with you. Sitting at the table the effect was outstanding. Even though there are shades of blue the scanner didn't get... it does have a stark feel. A situation where I didn't do the real life justice.
