View Full Version : My Life as a Baby by "Charlie" (Scratchboard)
11-22-2006, 01:44 PM
This WIP is narrated by myself (Charlie) in parts that I know most about the rest is done by TrickyV , he is the guy that feeds me goodies. He is drawing me and also me in my younger years on a 16" x 18" clayboard black smooth. I'll let him tell you about the technicalities as I will be very busy is training. Thank you Charlie, I first drew the size of the board on my blackboard then taped the selected pictures in the position of my choice (not Charlie's), Then I marked the positions on the clayboard with blackboard chalk. Now, the first order of business was to prevent a bunch of unwanted marks on the board because of the long time involved. It happens !! So I perloined part of a soft bed sheet from Sweety , cut a hole in it and vola!! protection!! http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/22-Nov-2006/62776-HPIM1420_resize.jpg
NO, it's not my Halloween costume , it's tjhe protection device. Victor :D

This is really going to be sweet. And what a great idea with the sheet and when you are done it could double as a ghost costume for next year.

Yes! I agree with Diane and love the idea of the sheet, but my extra is up in my window to keep a nosey neighbor from looking in...it's like living with Hyacinth Bucket.

That's not Bucket, it's "Bouquet"!!!!!!!!!!!
Hyacinth is part of the aristocracy, don't you know!! Ask Richard!

TJ.... Thanks a bunch.
Now for the hard part. I am sort of pushing it to the finish cuz as of Dec. 6 I will be hospitalized for eye surgery. Now for how long I will be away from the drawing board is anyones guess. So now I will post #3 and #4 very soon . Charlie as he is today is all finished but I chose to save it for the last and the a shot of the whole board . But what the heck I have a whole week. Here is # 3

looking great. Sorry to hear about the eye surgery, but hopefully you will be back able to draw sooner than expected. Can't wait to see the whole thing!

Cathy.... Wait no longer. Told you I was going to push it... #4 pic is where Charlie says " Gee !! I finally got both eyes open !! and what do you know , they are BLUE !!!. Sure is nice to see the other side of the world. Now finally the full board with me as I am now in the middle. Now I can look back at my baby years. ..........Now I can relax...Victor..:D
PS...Cathy please tell me about your camera... I have a d50 Nikon. How handy is the telaconverter ? The macro lens ? the Flash ? I just have the built in flash and you would not believe what I go through to acheve a bounce flash. yuk !!!! I'm getting good at standing on my head!!!!
Diana....Thank you Dear Diana, however I can always sit in front of my board and just stare at it with one gimpy eye. But that's OK I'm just too ornery to sit too long.... Victor:evil: :D

Victor, see, I tol yu it was gonna be smashing. Charley must really be please.
take it easy now on those eyes and al the best with your surgery.

Looks absolutely wonderful. If the eye surgery is for cataracts, figure about a day and you'd better be scratching again.
12-01-2006, 10:58 PM
TJ.... yes you told me !! But do I listen ? Thanks TJ.:D
Karen....Thank you so much.. No, it is not for cataracts, had that done several years back. This is micro surgery to put a hole (flap ) in the eye ball to relieve the ocular pressure which has been running rampant and doing a lot of damage to the optic nerve. Victor
