A Charger Question

Anyone know if I can use my battery charger for the D70 9 (an MH-18) with the D200? I got a UK voltage charger when I bought the 200 there and the charger is an MH-18a.
Could it be that the 'a' just denotes the different voltage?

Hi Carol,
Look at the number for your battery pac
(ie: EL-EN3E etc etc)
See if your battery packs are compatable with the charger. I don't know what battery pac your D200 has.

Nikon MH18A 2 Hour Quick Charger for the EN-EL3e, EN-EL3a & EN-EL3 Battery Packs.
Nikon MH18A is the Quick Charger.
Nikon MH18a is smaller than the MH-18 it replaces, Nikon MH18A charger is capable of charging both the EN-EL3a and EN-EL3 and ENEL3E batteries.

ADDED: My son said the plug for UK connection would look different, so you just need to see if the battery pac is listed in the specs for that charger

Thanks very much Damar, looks like I'll have to wait for one I have on order :( the 200 has an EN-EL3e. As my D70 still is out of commission I'm really going to have to curtail my activities - drat!

carol - go to a travel store, maps store or something... - in the travel section there should be power adapters that just convert the plug to whatever you're using.

thats the easy way as the actual charger can handle different voltages, so all you need is a plug adapter.

Thanks Lisa, I left my charger in England though as I need one when I'm there too...I'm just going to have to wait, hopefully not too long as Tim ordered it for me before I left, the end of this month is the eta. Rats.

No I don't Wendy, I'm pretty minimalist when it comes to gadgets; only have the bare necessities. Looks like the eta is the end of the month so fingers crossed for then!

I could see those clamps would be a problem.

I guess I like to cover all bases and have the in-car charger just in case I need it when travelling :)
