I love these, so light filled and pure-looking! I think I prefer the second one where the dog's back doesn't lead to the edge of the support. There's something about that first one I particularly like, too, but I can't put my finger on it. Sorry, not much help!

Nanc, to me it's all about personal preference. I'm no fan of the floating head. I like a finished picture, but I have to say, I've seen some floating head pieces that have really worked as well. Having said that, usually, give me a complete scene any day. (I do have my own 'floating head' chimp in my siggy lol)
Love your brushwork and use of colour, it's beautiful and if it's that good, you'll get away with either.

Is this a finished piece or a photoshopped one? I actually like the finished body but I think I prefer the angle set up by the second one where the back looks like if continued it would go down in a straighter, sitting up angle.

I think the work is exquisite.
I prefer the complete back to the edge. It seems more finished.
Either way, it is lovely work.

Lovely, I think I agree with Piper, the full body but downwards, as if in a sitting position :)

I vote for the last one. Beautiful little dog.

My vote is for the "floater" kind of like how it concentrates on the dog's face alone. Love the angle of the ear. Wonder what he sees????

The first one works best for me. The second one makes me think the dog is dead and off to Heaven, and has a very surreal feel about it.
Best regards,
Wes
