Just looking for a little advice.

What would be the best bottled-inks to go for as far
as color is concerned? I currently use Pelikan for black,
and it seems good, identical to the Micron Pigma ink so
much that I can switch between the two in a drawing
depending upon what the circumstances demand (usually
being a matter of location). Is the Higgins stuff worth-
while as far as color-fastness, depth, quality, etc.? It's
the only other brand I see at the places I go here in Davis,
and while Pelikan apparently has colored inks, they're
almost always bought up at the only place I can get them.

I've never used Higgins before but I use FW Artist Acrylic Inks. They are colorfast, most colors are transparent, water-soluble until they dry, and come in pretty varied colors. The only down side is they dry really fast so you have to get them brushed on fast. Being in different countries I can only assume that you can find them somewhere near where you live.

If the colored inks are always gone when you get there perhaps you should ask the managment if they can hold a couple bottles just for you, or when they come in so you can be there right then to get some... i am sure they can help you...

I don't know much about bottled inks though. I prefer using regular pens for ink drawings.
