View Full Version : Deer at Dusk

Hi peeps :) I took my original ink drawing of this and added a colored background from a graphics program just to see how it would look. I would like to render this background effect to a copy of the original in colored inks. Will post the results if it works.
Comments are always welcome :D
PS: The horizontal lines in the background should not be there :(

I have not seen the original ink drawing but this one is impressive. Very well drawn.

I couldn't get the lines out of it...
Sometimes its the resizing that puts the lines in. I know with my 20x16 paintings i have to be careful to shrink them a little at a time or i end up with wavy lines through the whole thing....
I do like this though. Its very striking....

I would shift the tonal values of the sky so that the lighter part is behind the stag's head. This is the 'signature' part of the animal and more interesting than the legs. (In my ever humble opinion :D )
I love the drawing. :)

I like the colors. It really makes the silhouette of the deer, grass and tree stand out.

The color adds a lot to this piece, artdude. Gives the feeling of a peaceful sunset with the buck content in its surroundings. I have seen scenes like this out in the desert with both bucks and antelope.
