Surrender

I bought a box of gouaches and they sat on my shelf for a few months. I thought I´d paint something with them but never had the time.
Then a family member got seriously ill. I got this sudden need to paint an angel and this painting, "Surrender" was the result.
This painting represents the moment when you realize there are things that are out of your control, that sometimes you have to give in and trust that you´ll be given the strength to meet whatever comes.

This is beautifully rendered (the details in the hair, dress and wings..beautiful). A lovely 'traditional' style with gentle sentiment.
