I finally finished this, did it for my Dad's birthday. It's 11x14 on wrapped canvas. As always, all comments welcome. Thanks

Beautiful! David, your dad is going to LOVE THIS! How nice that you made it for him... a wonderful gift from the heart! :)
Well done! He will be one happy dad!
Is this from a real life view of the vehicle or did you paint from a picture?

My grandmother had a '47 caddie, with all that great wood..... seems cars in those days truly looked better for all the warmness of the polished woods in and around them......

I really don't want to be a critic but the wood just looks like yellow to me.Where are the lines one associates with wood?Sorry Faded!!!

Thanks everyone, I gave it to him yesterday, and he loved it :) He has a book on the history of these cars, so I went looking on the net for one I could use as a reference. This picture is the only one of a '47 Oldsmobile I could find, I just liked the looks of it. A valid point about the woodgrain Anthony, but as you can see, it wasn't really visible in this picture. Thanks again for all your comments.

Nicely done David,
It did not go unnoticed that you changed the color of the reflections to go with your sky.

I can see why your Dad loved it. Not only is it about something that he is passionate about but it is also painted by his son.
