Introducing Glass Alchemy Glasstique
Special one-time-only colors on available on eBay
Glass Alchemy currently has over 90 colors out on the market and not all of them are blockbusters. Since we have over 300 recipes “in the vault,” we would like to make more colors available on a trial basis, allowing us to see which would be viable candidates to sell to distributors.
Since these colors are being made in limited runs, the cost to make them is higher. For example the cost of the crucible alone to make the 80 pounds is $350.00, which represents $4.35 per pound of the cost (not including sand, chemicals, labor and other costs). Due to the explosion of color companies and new colors, the distributors have to invest in many colors, some of which do not sell well. We are trying to reduce that risk by getting small runs of new colors out to you first through eBay.
In summary:
The purpose of the Glasstique program is: A) To allow those who want to try some unique colors to do so at a reasonable cost and B) To help us sort out what the market wants from what only a few people want—in other words, if a particular color is a real hit, we can then provide it to the distributors.
