View Full Version : Experiment in Perspective WIP #2

Hi All ....Just a note to show the tact I have taken to show the stone work. It took a lot of blackboard work to make up my mind. I have just realized that it is more dificult to make up a picture from the mind than with a reference photo. It would be a disaster to have to change things in mid-stream at this point of time............Victor:wave:

Is that the scan or have you colored them lightly too. This is just fantastic, the stones look so real. Do you have a close up of the brickwork?

Victor.. This is great!
Looks like you have a great eye for perspective.
I wanna see close ups too!

This is fantastic! I hope you won't mind if I pull up a chair to watch the progression!

Karen....No, no scan..I photographed with my dig camera. Yes I did color the stones ever so slightly but not as deep as the pic shows. That color is because I took the pic in very poor tungsten light. I used a very, very pale pinkish Dr.Martins ink. Here is the close up as best I can do. I'm not too swift at that sort of thing yet. ...........Victor
Kay....Thank you so much for the kind words. I also rely on my sweety and daughter to keep me on the right track....Victor
OK, I have to stop here as I tryed to do that close up thing and it aint-a-workin. So I'll try a close up with the camera. Hold on------http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/23-Oct-2006/62776-DSC_0001-4.JPG

This is great. You have captured the texture of the stone wall, plus I love your perspective. What medium are you using to color?

Diana....AHA !! ...Now it clicks on my poor slow brain.!!! You are the gentle lady that did the portrate of the little indian boy. I feel blessed to have you comment on my drawing and thank you so much. Mostly I use Dr. Ph. Martin's fine art water color inks in a 12 bottle set.....Victor.

Victor, I didn't get to see the "in-progress" before. This is, once again, absolutely a fabulous piece, and I love to get to see the WIP.
Thanks so much,
