Lake Alice

This is a little 8x10 of Lake Alice on the University of Florida Campus in Gainesville. Diane, Elisabeth and I went there to paint on Sunday. I went back two days later to finish this. It was fun. We saw lots of fish, Blue Herons, a Bald Eagle, gators and big turtles. A very cool place right in the city.

Gives the sense of a breezy spring day! Lush color! Love it!

Do you work in oils? I'll be taking a workshop in a few weeks, painting plein air with oils!!

Hi carly,
Yes I work in oils all the time now. I used to do pastels also but there were several reasons for giving up pastels. The oils are far more challenging,and not having to worry about breaking glass for installations,etc. I started out with oils in art school 100 years ago and I still love them the best.
