Hey All:wave:
There are a few activities we have planned over the next few weeks.

One being we encourage you to join in Dee's Whodunit (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=375004).

We have decided to do a lil exam this week. We are dedicating this to our Dearest Anita:heart: -who is in Saudi Arabia at this time and she is cloudless! So-join in and let's make some clouds for her! Here is a selection from the RIL section on sunsets and sunrises-though feel free to select your own or do one plein air!
Crops are certainly permitted as some of these are pretty intense.
Pencil, colored pencil, charcoal and chalk are permitted.:)
If you would like to have a greyscale of anything-and do not have the means to do so---just ask.

tyree...   nice clouds,
I have been wishfully looking at some magnificent skies we got here last month, hurricane season... usually the sky is just very very blue. I just wished I would have been able to catch them "live". I am not experienced enough. I tried, though...
I will certainly do a cloud contribution for anita,...cannot swing it this week though.
beautiful refs, great idea.

I decided to use as reference a photo I took a few weeks ago walking up my driveway.
I did two versions, the first in colored pencils. I have a limited number of colors but the real problem is not the colors. The clouds are neither puffy nor wispy.
The second is done with charcoal, white chalk and the one blue pastel crayon I have. It is a little better, but still not as puffy as I would like. But, OH, what a mess to use. I keep a few pastels just to remind me not to get deeply involved in them, no matter how many wonderful I drawings I see from other people.
