Two things I can't resist...a good elephant pic and quinacridone magenta! My college's mascot is a mighty pachyderm, and the colors are crimson and white, so I guess that's why! Anyhow - here's my contribution - at about 5x7 inches, watercolor on Moleskine watercolor sketchbook. Right at 2 hours, I think. I forget to watch the time  .

Great! Love the crop and especially his trunk coming down from the picture plane. Cool. Why don't I think of things like that?

Diahn,
Lovely rendition of this popular fellow.
I especially like the pen work.
Don't you just love those Moleskine sketchbooks? (I do).

VALRI - How did I miss you in my first reply??? I don't know - anyhow - thank you, thank you thank you!

Thanks, too - Meimei, Imelda, Steve, Chloe, Jane, SAndy, and Dewi!! It's funny - the pen work came late in this one - I had intended for it to be a traditional watercolor, but I never could get happy with it, so I started playing with the pen and bam - there it was :)

Dee - what is up with your 'puter, girl? All the posts are there for me! Weird! Glad the reply section is working, anyway - thanks for the comment (and your persistence!) :wink2:

Well - couldn't edit to add anything - don't know why, exactly...but Steve - yes, I do love the Moleskine - I'm really starting to enjoy the watercolor sketchbook - it's taken me a while to get into it, but I'm almost through another regular sketchbook, and I guess I felt like I could branch out!
