I saved this one to post on the new Scratchboard SubForum. It was finished last week. 8" x 10" on Ampersand Black Claybord. C&C always appreciated!

Black and white scratchboard is very dramatic. Great use of the medium. I'm glad you waited to post this so you could kick off the new forum right.

This is spectacular. I've got some photos for you from the Battle Cruise I took yesterday...tall ships and seamen. It will take me a couple of days to get them loaded...they look like they'd be wonderful for your style. The ship is the Lady Washington, also known as the Interceptor from Pirates of the Carribean.

Thanks for posting this, Bertoni. I've always thought insects might make a good scratchboard subject, with their hard surfaces and intricate detail. Your dragonfly was another example. One good thing about this web site is for ideas about future works. This is a great piece.
Thanks also for being the moderator for this forum.

Yes, insects are great subjects for this art form!! All kinds of detail in them
i.e Butterflies!!! I've been wanting to try butterflies down the road in color on Black Claybord!!!
...and ps: I'm just the Guide on the forum and happy to help out our two Moderators, Chris (Jakeally) and Mary (mlelevier)!!!

I want to see a scabard (sp?) with (you know, that egyptian bug) with metallic paints! I also saw something one time with gold leaf added. Looked stunning.

I think you must mean "Scarab"?...the ancient Egyptian beetle. People used the design to create jewelry.

Yup, that's the one...I'm still listing from side to side.
