I painted outside by the lake here this morning with a friend. There was a heavy fog burning off on the lake behind the trees---awesome sight! I'm soooo glad I forgot my oils and ended up using gouache for this one.

I love that look over water too. Nature is so awesome, it is great when we can do what we love and witness something so beautiful at the same time. Your leaves are changing so rapidly. Gorgeous colors and nice variety in shape. We have had a funky haze here in CA. Not one that is particularly captivating.

Hi, Jamie, I post how beautiful I thought this was in the plein air forum but then saw it here too and also noticed the wonderful detail/variation in color in the foilage on your trees. WOW!

Robin and Terry, thank you both so much. I had such a good time out there this morning that I invited the entire Lower Hudson Valley chapter of NYPAP over to paint on Monday morning! I hope we have good weather and that there are still ample leaves left....Fall seems to be coming early this year.
