Yep, I'm at it again. This time I wanted to try making a fish focal bead. Not too sure I like this one much but put it up on ebay just to see what happens:

Love the design- but I think other colors would work.

Very nice design. The colors really pop with his blue eye. Is that a glass eye or is it made from clay as well?
Really nice design to it, I love the flow but something seems off. Might be because I have a darker monitor than most--and the colors seem quite a bit darker...

Hi and thanks for the comments. The eye is also clay and then painted. They're really tiny and I use a magnifier to see them well enough to paint them ... lol
Yes the colors are a bit darker than I wanted. For some reason the maroon/purples get darker when you bake them. I'm playing with color blends so with any luck I'll find a combo of purples that stay close to the unbaked color when baked.
The piece under the eye bugs me, I think it's too big. I'll do something different there next time. :)
I also used metal gold clays in the blend, it's hard to tell in the pic but they are really pretty in person.

The fish is really cute!
You can avoid darkening by adding a little white to the clay. Not enough so that it significantly changes the color. Try experimenting with it to see.
I like your little fishy!!! He is just too cute!
