View Full Version : First Landscape

Here's my first attempt at a landscape - I previously painted flowers. This is based on a photo of Killarney Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. (acrylic - 24 in. x 30 in. on canvas)
I painted this at a great weekend workshop given by Canadian artist Brian Simons http://www.briansimons.com
I'm not sure what title to give this painting. Suggestions?

Im awful with titles, I usually get my daughters to name them for me.. I like the bold use of colors here

[quote=Kerch] I am only getting the top third of the picture when I click on the thumbnail. It is a lovely picture and I would appreciate the whole image of course. Does anyone have an idea of where the difficulty probably lies and/or what I am doing wrong?
"Beached at Sunset" is a title that fits for me.
TIA for any help and I think this site is one of the greatest.

Thanks very much for the positive comments. This was my first attempt at a landscape, but also at trying to have a looser and freer style.

Atmospheric painting with lovely rich colours. This piece has a wondrous feel to it, as though you could get into the boat and make your way towards those dark and mysterious hills/mountains.

All, thanks again for taking the time to give comments. I hope I conveyed a little of the atmosphere of Killarney
