I use the little yellow square with mountain scene in the post toolbar, it has resized everything for me so far, the other option is one of the many photo programs available

Firstly how big is it?

I have found that if you go into the full reply area. See post reply immediately at the bottom of the replies (not the quick reply dialogue box) there will be a little square above where you type the message that looks a bit like a postage stamp with a mountain. Press that and a box will appear that has a browse prompt. This allows you to select a file that can be bigger than the recommended size and will upload it. The last image I uploaded was 308kb, far bigger than the 150kb limit.

If this doesn't work then you will have to go into a program where you decrease the image size, then upload it.

Do what the above posts advise, or:

Get the freeware program Irfanview. Run the program.

1. Open your image: File > Open > [your image file].

2. Resize the image: Image > Resize/Resample > Set New Size [enter 500 for width (or 600 for height if it is higher than is long)].

3. Save it: File > Save.

There's a link in my signature to several kinds of free software that will let you resize images, if you don't already have something on your computer that will do the job.

I have just used good old Microsoft Paint (comes with Windows), gone to the attributes menu... you can automatically change the size from there!
