I posted the plein air of this rustic Central Park arch a few months ago.
Here is my finished studio painting.

Brad, This is just wonderful. And rocks can be so difficult. You make it look real. And so huge. How long did this take you? Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks Linda, this took my about a month. Which is average for these big studio paintings.

wow. lots of questions like how did you do that from that? i guess photos help. did you use your plein air mostly for color and overall value? that sunlight coming down is perfect!

Yes, I use the study for color and compostion since these are the two areas that the camera distorts the most. I take lots and lots of photos, dozens sometimes for use with the details.
