Too bad that it is soo big. Maybe after some years 160 MP will fit into pocket digital camera.

Wow! One would need huge muscles to lug that around all day (and it won't fit in my handbag ....)

can you imagine asking someone to take picture of you and family on the trip haha
" We are not ready yet, one more second" and then the person drops camera because arms got too tired :D

Wow I thought this was a joke thread.. Lmao... That looks ridiculous, I wonder what the high ISO noise is like on that camera? It must be some sort of panoramic beast?
Thanks for that I am still reeling.

Do you guys remember how big were hard drives with small memory ? Now we have 30, 60 and more gigabites that can fit into pocket. I think that in the future digital cameras will have more megapixels and be smaller that this huge monster.

I am old I can remember when computers did not have hard drives and were run by a 5 and half inch floppy (in fact if I look round here real hard I can still find some), sheesh I can remember when computers were actually not even used for personal stuff they were the realm of big business .... with all information stored on tapes ..... and took up whole rooms!
I can still remember a digital SLR that was state of the art and a had a huge 1.3MP :)
I think there is a limit to how much information they can fit on a small sensor and still get good detail, but I supose they may make multilevel sensors that can pack more in, we will just have to wait and see.

  I've been using a 1.6MP for the past 5 years. It was hard to give it up as it still takes lovely macros. When my daughter took a photo using her phone camera at 2MP I decided it was time!!! Just wish I could have spent the same $2000 I spent 5 years ago instead of the $500 for a little pocket job.
I remember those 5 and a half floppies too but - hey the $2000 - 5 year old camera uses the 3 and a quarter floppies too - no SD cards for that one! Ahh technology.

I want one, too!!!!!!!
What a dream, eh??? Over $50,000 CDN when you add the taxes - and that doesn't include any lenses!! Bet you'd be over $100,000 easily by the time you add things all up and personalize this baby!
Weight does not seem excessive - 2.8 kg - but then that is just the camera body and doesn't include lenses or anything else. My shoulders and back are aching already!!
And I am old enough that I remember when there were NO COMPUTERS!
Cheers,
Sue

and
http://www.computersciencelab.com/ComputerHistory/HistoryPt3.htm hehe I now know why we call them computer "bugs" and getting rid of the is called "debugging"
Dorothy remember I said state of the art DSLR at 1.3MP, that was way before your little point and shoot :D
As with anything I paif more for my little Canon S30 (3MP) 5 years ago than I did for my fancy Fuji 9MP earlier this year. The technology is going ahead in leaps and bounds and becoming more affordable.
It will be interesting to see how soon that technology shrinks ro become more usable to the average person and becomes more affordable .....

Interesting couple of websites there Wendy - thanks.
I think I might still be in the dark if it weren't for my kids. Their first computer was one that did those ping pong games followed swiftly by an intellivision on which one of the boys wrote his first piece of code! The rest in our family is history. All three are firmly entrenched in the computer industry.
