This is a fun little piece, entitled Tennesse Sunrise. It's about 10" in diameter and is in relief form. It's of a most unusual medium, and thought you might like to guess what the medium is.

I really havent a clue, but its got a lovely finish to it.
If I HAD to guess, I would say wax, but I would probably be wrong !!

I think it's either wax or soap.

Not soap or wax, but along those lines, in a sense. It was an "accidental" piece, at best. I know this is silly, but the better half, also an artist part time, created this accidentally. We thought it was pretty neat for an accident. Let me know if I just drive you crazy.

Hint: It's used in many different trades, sometimes even by artists.

I dont know the name of the stuff as I dont do watercolours, but is it that stuff they put on the paper to mask a certain part of it?

No that's not it either. This one is a "mind binder".

Wood glue or rubber cement?

You got it, sassybird! It's wood glue. Hubby is also a carpenter, and the bucket of glue kept getting tossed around with just the little bit in it. One day he opened the bucket and out falls this really neat relief. Like I said, it was accidental, but had to share it as some accidents result in fun.

Thanks for playing.

:D ROFLOL :D
This is wonderful....you could probably sell it for a mint.
I love the face on it.
The round nose in the middle and a kind of half frown with squinty eyes as if he is saying "Phew let me out of this can"

LOL, leaf. I had not seen the face until you mentioned it. I suspect that is exactly what he was thinking. Thank goodness he was "rescued".

LOL Mini, I have played with wood glue since I was a kid. My dad did a lot of building in his spare time. It was the color that told me what it was. Don't you just love those unexpected treats?:D I don't know how big it is, but find a way to preserve it somehow.

I could go and measure it, but it's the diameter of a five gallon bucket. Yes, we've decided we must preserve it. I think I'll frame it when I find a circular frame for the right price. We have had our share of glue creations around here for years as well. Used to be shoe repairers and the gooey contact cement was great for unexpected creations. I guess one just uses the medium on hand.

TeAnne, thanks about the tiny head ;) It's from one of my mini paintings. Sometimes being silly gets the best of me. Oh, and I love your quote. It sums it up for me.

Thanks all, this has been fun.
