I am still pursuing the project to draw portraits. Lorna, since you were so busy this summer, you are lucky that you didn't see the earlier versions. This one of your brother is about as close as I can get at this time, but I keep trying. Graphite, 10" x 11", slightly clipped by the scanner, off and on about 2 hours.

Another favorite theme of mine, Flowers. I call this a painted daisy, but am not sure what other names it has. Watercolor, 8.5" x 10.5", another 2 hours.

Hi Connie:wave:

Boy you're getting good at those portraits!! That's a very close likeness but what's better is the shading and very real shape to his face...excellent pencil work, girl!!

The flower colors are very real looking and crisp and clean, too!

Very good job on the portrait - really three-dimensional.
You said critisism is welcome, so I hope you don't mind my saying that I'm unhappy with the crop of the flower picture - the blossom seems to float in the middle of the picture, and the stem is not clearly defined - I feel that maybe a little more colour to the stem and a little cutting above and right would do a lot for this beautiful motive!
