Quick little poll on who sees this brand available at their art stores.

I have gone to Pearl, Blick and other stores (the real stores as well as online) and I see Grumbachers line of student acrylics as well as their pre-tested oils and various mediums but I never ever see the Finest line of acrylics.

Are they discontinued or just hard to get a hold of?

Not that it bothers me all that much since I love the Golden, Blick and Winsor and Newton Finity acrylics, just a bug in my craw about these paints.

Most places here have Liquirex, golden, and W&N for acrylics....

I've never been able to find it either, and I've wanted to try it, having heard good things about it.

As a clarification, I have seen them online occasionally but they seem scarce to me, especially in store. Which is odd in light of the availability of other grumbacher paints.

As I recall reading elsewhere, "Finest" is kaput as of a year or so ago. Some are selling close outs.

Some close-out and clearance tube available on the web, ruels among others:

and someone on eBay has been selling single colors in boxes of 3:

Too bad, as I read that some people preferred them over other brands. I never tried them, only Hyplar many years ago when first starting.

I wonder why. Surely they must have some kind of professional level acrylic in the works or else all they will offer is the student "academy" acrylics?

that's just....odd

go to somewhere online. google the grumbacher acrylics and you should get the stores that carry it.
I have seen it at a craft store as we don't have any art stores here. I go online for all my art stuff.

Consumer Affairs Representatives will be happy to locate a
convenient retail location for you.

thanks a.ladd

I wonder why they would do away with a Pro line of acrylics. Oh well.

Simple economics, I suppose. The new owners must be trimming back.

It seemed Grumbacher was THE dominant US brand for decades and Finest/Hyplar was one of the very earliest. But there are so many more competitive premium acrylic brands out there now (even as so many commercial artist are moving to digital).
