View Full Version : tips on finnishing back of frame
I'm trying to upgrade my framing by finnishing off the back, should it be a paper dust cover or tapping the edges? Tips on the paper would be apreciated. I'm framing watercolors @ 11"X14". Oak frames.

Hi Bob,
In the USA the preference is for a full backing cover of brown or black kraft paper. It can be stuck to the frame with PVA glue, and is dampened so that it goes tight when it dries.
Here in the UK most framers use a special backing tape to seal the back.
