A pear ... done from life
Talens gouache (only the primaries plus white & black)
Moleskine watercolor sketchbook (not my favorite paper, however).
4"w x4h"

A pair of eyes - mine, also done from life.
Talens gouache (black, blue & white)
Bockingford coldpressed wc paper
3"w x 6.5"h

C & C welcome, since I'm just a novice in the paint world ... doing it, that is. :D

Judy, these are both really fun pieces. I love your compositional sense.

Like your pairs, and the Pear esp. Mixed from the promaries, very cool!

Have not tried the new W/C Moleskines, but have found I do like to paint in the old sketchbooks. Somewhere I have one I was using casein in, thinly sort of, to avoid the brittle film problem...

Oh Judy I love that pear, very sensual!!

Luv the punnish title. Your pear is wonderful! I like your "pair," as well. Good to 'see' you again, Judy.

Thank you everyone!

Meisie this was one of my own real life pears and I ate it when I was finished...heh heh, het was lekker!! ;)

I've just returned from a week in France, where the lovely lady who owned the gite we stayed in gave me a bowl full of pears from her orchard ... so, uhmm, you'll have to suffer through some more paintings of pears .... :p :D oh and some apples and uhmm, other messes I made!!!

I'm doomed to do still-lifes of things I eat.

Great to see you too Eileen!!

Meisie Meisie!! heh heh...now I've been found out as "the class clown"

Yes, Kermit went along, although he didn't eat pears, but he took his friend "Petit Kermit" (as he is now known) along as well. It's good to have someone to keep him company ... :p :D

See ... they had fun in Troyes and they lived dangerously!

Here they are on the Ruelle du Chats (smallest street in Troyes)

A restaurant in Troyes ( we didn't eat there just loved the lean of the building...which pretty much describes every building in the old part of Troyes)

And here - Frogs tempting fate! they could have ended up on the menu ...

:D :D :D

I'm off again to France end of this week  ... different region, Nord Pas de Calais... wonder what the frogs will do there?

Those frogs REALLY like to live dangerously :D Thanks for the pics! I'm fascinated by the building! Did you get some sketching done? It begs to be drawn, but then there is always so much to see and do!

Have another great trip in France and remember the pics ;) Petit Kermit is cute too....do they make a lot of noise at night? :p
