Great to see a Clay Forum on WC! I like combining PC and PMC and other forms of clay others of us are not familiar with; I started with PC before lampworking, so I hope to post some older (and newer) work here.

About the Future Floor Wax (FFW), it works great when I've used it in the past, but I've NEVER been able to clean it out of my brush when finished. This is not a matter of drying out, bucause I try to clean it immediately after use. Also, questions: if a coat of FFW dries with a drip line showing, can it be sanded and coated again? Should work that has been cured, sanded and coated, then dried with FFW be elevated when curing in the oven. In other words does the FFW get soft and sticky again when reheated?

Again, great to see all the gorgeous work out there!

Thanks,
Allen

Allen,

Yes, you can sand Future and reseal the area. Many polymer clay artists do this to build up a thicker, clearer coat.

As far as how to remove it form brushes, I believe that ammonia works well. Check the bottle - use whatever it is the recommend for removing old Future from a floor. Same principle applies here.

Refer to: http://www.glassattic.com/polymer/finishes.htm and click on the Future>Removing link.

Thanks, Penguintrax,

I'd forgotton about Glass Attic; I found what I was looking for there! I've used Future in the past, but my experience with ammonia is that it seemed to "gum up" the brush. I'll give it another try.

Barb and Allen, Thanks for the information. I have been using a sealer made for poly. This would be much, much cheaper!
