View Full Version : "Clarinet" a practice scratchboard

This is a 5 1/2" x 5" scratchboard for some practice. On a old leftover chunk of Canson Black scratchboard. The best board for this is Claybord by Ampersand!!!!

The composition in this is fantastic! It gives it a great feel.

Thanks Mary! Glad you thought so. It was a practice piece to show a good friend of ours who's a clarinet jazz player.

I like the composition, too; I think the diagonal lines add movement. I know this is a practice piece and you have a loose, open style... if you're going to do another finished piece perhaps you might try adding detail to some key areas - like where the fingers touch the keys? Just a thought.

As usual, very imaginative and very well executed. I'd love to see your idea of a finished piece.

Dave, I may do one down the road. Will be seeing that clarinet soon and will take some closeups and do a sketch in prep for that larger finished piece!!
