These are wonderful. I like the way the colour paper really helps the bring out the details in the adult penguins.
Beautiful! The emperor penguins look really imperial. And it feels so cold!

You're really improving fast with your pastel work! I may know nothing about pastels, but this is really nice. As everyone else has said, you did a great job choosing the paper, then rendering out the subjects so well with your shading.
Keep 'em comin' :D

Thanks Pencils, Greencook, Surfinia and Irina for your generous comments. Sorry I took so long to reply--I've been sick the last few days so haven't been on the computer. I'm getting better little by little. Hope I'm okay by Friday so I can join in the next event. These are great fun and I'd hate to miss one.

Many Thanks, GladysSharon and Geoff.
Wow, it's great to hear that I may actually be improving. I really love working with pastels but they are a challenge. Well, I suppose any medium is a challenge until you gain experience. I'm getting ready to do another. This will be my sixth. I'm having so much fun with this extremely messy medium--like being a kid again (not that I ever grew up :D ) And I'm learning so much since I joined WC last January. You're all so supportive and helpful.

Thank you, Impetuous! That is the sweetest compliment I've ever received! Please tell your daughters I thank them too.
