http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/28-Jul-2006/87998-sierra_vigil_color_version_.jpg This piece is mostly colored pencil...it started out as pen & ink....and it just sort of took off in all directions....almost threw it away several times.
It is 36" x 24" on poster board.
Sorry about the flash reflection.

Well, glad you didn't! Isn't it odd (and fun) how a piece evolves & almost decides for you what it's going to be?
Just a suggestion, for your next one? Use a better paper. (I'm the designated paper-snob. ) You'll be surprised at what a difference good paper will do for a piece.
Hope to see more!
Aren't you glad you didn't throw it away? I love the shadows in this. Wanda

This is great, and I especially love the colour in the rocks. You've been busy lately with all the ones I have seen in the Pen & Ink Forum as well.

Fortunately for us you didn't throw it away!! You've done an excellent job with the shadows and rocks!!
Does poster board work well for p&i work? Your CPs will really stand out much brighter and cleaner on a better support!
Big too!! How long did this take you?

Seeing as how I kept putting it away and almost threw it away several times....it took almost 2 years.

2 years well spent!
What a lovely picture! It has a real painted quality about it.
Beautiful job, I love it. The title is perfect as well.

I love the way you handled the light, rocks and their color and texture. The fur is so soft and great color.
