I am just new into using clay, and recently I attempted a claywork based on RHCP lead singer Anthony Keidis. It's use is to hold pens, pencils etc. I was wondering what you guys think of it. Here are some images of it.

While I'm not sure that I love it, it is interesting. Of course I don't know who Anthony Keidis is and perhaps that's why I don't love it. Did you use rolled slab technique, low fire, with glazes?

Thanks for your comments, peeps.
RCA, I didn't use rolled slab technique, but did glaze it, and then fired it in the kiln.
Thanks,

interesting what different impressions you and i have of anthony--if i were to express my impression of him in a clay vessel, it would look SOOOO different from yours! he seems almost to be a monster in your creation there, and i see him more as a poet. but perhaps i'm just romanticizing him too much. i'm curious abt the dimensions of your piece. and its purpose/function (since it is a hollow vessel and has a lid, i assume it has a function?).

Aaaaaa, now I know who Anthony Keidis is. I remember seeing an interview of him discribing one of his concerts where the whole band went out on stage with nothing but a sock on their genitals. While "poetic" he may be I think "raw energy" describes him better. Almost like a modern "Iggy Pop," without the razor blades.
That in perspective, yes I do like your piece.
