This is an 8x10 scratchboard on Canson Studio Grattage.

I like the loose quality to this piece and the range of value. I also like the triangular pose of your subject - it adds some dynamic lines to a static image.

I only have one comment, but I'm not sure if it's your camera/scanner or in the actual work: his head seems faded and this pushes it into the background - almost on level with the tree.

Bertoni, I think you said these were new pieces of yours. Well, you certainly haven't lost that wonderful impressionistic style of yours. I love this!

Bertoni, I just figured out how to get to the scratchbord sub-section thing...cool...and I really REALLY like your drawing...I could take some lesssons about working a a little more free..it's wonderful ..and the fact that my son is now a sailor...the whole idea of a sailor scratchboard..has me thinking...hummmmmmm...thnaks for posting....Rod-Man

That's from a photo of my Dad when he was in the USN!
I've thought of taking one of my USN photos when I was on a destroyer and doing a scratch from it. Hey just thought of one that might work???
All I need is time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do have a question... What is that on the left upper corner?
I know that it is hard to get an accurate picture with these.
