Very nice,

What about a dark background?

Which technics have you used?

It's acrylic on illustration board with a little airbrush. The printed version had a light creamy yellow background -- we tried a dark bg but it made Death's robe look too light and pastel-like -- and obscured the figure of the li'l conductor. Published version of this looked quite good -- unlike another recent book cover illo of mine that was just ruined in the printing -- the bright red of a female figure's dress printed dark brown and her pale pink skin and blonde hair were GREEN! Whether it's the fault of the printer or the art director, I've yet to discover... what a disaster.

The whole notion here, by the way, was to emulate the Dell paperback covers of the '40s and '50s.

Thanks for all the comments.

thanks.

I have had problems with printed work too.
Sometimes it is due to
1. the scan
2. the photography
3. the printer

What you must do is ask to see a proof before they go ahead with the printing. That way, you may be able to adjust and teh quality of your reflected work wil be better.

Real clean work...I like it!
The background in white doesn't add to the scary mood. I guess the beige you said was used is better plus I guess the typos of the heading fills in.

Thanks for sharing it with us!

Roger:)
