View Full Version : Tonight's Drawing 07/12/06
Here is tonights drawing. It's 14 x 17" charcoal, cont, and Faber Castle Monochromatic crayon. I have to rework the stomach area just a bit and do some more on the cloth of the dress.

watch the width of the hips, she looks a little skinny down there. If you can, pull out a little more white on her face highlights! Keep up the hard work!

Purc, a very similar pose to the last one, and adding some colour certainly livens things up!
You worked well with the face and shoulders area, that would have been very successful by itself... you are going to have to work harder on other dificult bits... hands, arms and the difficulty of depicting crossed legs in this pose.
Keep doing as many of these as you can!

Good to see you working so hard, and practsing hard. Good comments from Jack and Mac, and I agree with them. I think it would be good for you to practise with some close ups studies too..... e.g. hands, feet, knees, etc..... and really study them closely, after a while you will know what's going on there when you put them into a figure work.
We would like to see lots more from you! :)

why the halo around the face? Not that i dont like it, but i think if youre going to use it then you should work it around the picture more than just that area...

I have to agree that the upper half of this works better than the lower. A little practicwe and you'll begin to feel as comfortable with the whole figure as you are with the head and upper body.
Keep at it and keep posting.
