Hello I have been getting ready for an art fair this next weekend--I needed a fresh painting. Did this one today from a photo I shot a few days ago. Pastel on matboard.. 18x22 inches--comments welcome ..thanks Tom

Just wonderful! I love the depth in it and the details you managed in the foreground leaves/plants is excellent :)

I echoed the 'stunning'.
However, the more I gazed at it, the more my eye was drawn to the slash of light colour across the middle. At first I thought it was a log then I think it may be shine on the water, or maybe sand.
Perhaps, whatever it is, you could tone it down a little to make the furthest part recede so your eye can glide past it.
Just gorgeous colours and you have captured the particular light of the scene.

Do you coat the mattboard? Or does the pastel stick pretty well to just the mattboard?

Undoubtedly, you have the mark of the specialist. The painting is remarkable. I like the darks and the light green and the beautiful foreground.
