Had done an acrylic painting of the scene last year and thought I'd try the scene in scratchboard. 5" x 7".
Am still practicing trying to get used to the tools and medium again after quite a few years hiatus. C&C always appreciatedhttp://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/03-Jul-2006/28168-Window_Shop_digcam_shot.jpg

I think you have picked a perfect scene for your style in scratchboard. It is very authentic. I love the piece!

Glad you do!! Thanks much for looking! Appreciate the comment! After I do a couple more on black...want to experiment with acrylics and other media on clayboard and then scratching in!:)

That will look stunning, I'm sure. Scratchboard is a technique I have never tried, mainly because I have never seen a scratchboard here in Mexico or anyone that does it. I'll have to get one next trip to the US and try it out.

Give it a try, I think you'd like it!! I'm about to experiment doing a couple of colorful parrots in different media, not sure which (colored pencil or acrylics or both) and then doing some scratch on that, all on white claybord surface.

This is just lovely.... I love these old shops. I think Scratching is a perfect media for this type of subject and you did a great job with it:clap:

I really like your loose, impressionistic style.

Tania:
Thanks!!
Impressionism is the way I like to paint, so it must carry over into my scratchboard work.
...and am so glad it does!!! :)

This looks great Bertoni! I am now working on my first scratchboard and finding it quite daunting! LOL.

I like the perspective and "lived in" look of your shops. Very nicely done. I like seeing the bold and expressive line scratches.

Gosh, this is stunning Bertoni. I have never tried scratchboard either but your piece is certainly inspiring. I think the detail is wonderful.
