Ok, while looking around trying to find a bit of info about the kiln i have to work with at school I found this link. Cooking in the kiln in the extreme...a whole turkey.

You should never,never do that.
Kiln elements and brick degrade even at
low temperatures[even when new.]
Very unsafe.
One of the components of the kiln's heating
element is nickel,the other chrome.
The element will be much hotter than the
air it is heating.
Very dangerous.

That is someone with too much space & money...... but thanks, BF, I did enjoy looking at the link. I bet Dave Barry could make something brilliant of this in his column.....
