Lovely rose, Rod. You are the master!
I'm going back and try this one, too. It's simplicity is inviting.

This is really beautiful Rod. Masterly shading! And the raindrops - breathtaking.
I would like to have tried this one, but when I saw all the raindrops I kicked myself for not attempting your lesson on them. I printed it out when I first joined but unfortunately it is among my "one of these days" projects. :(

crispy, wet, lush, dreamy
I like how you've got both hard edges
and some nice soft ones (in the stems)
some detail and some lovely loose watery blending

I love the shadow colors beneath the rose, and the crisp edges on the leaves. Beautiful shading on the flower itself, makes me want to reach out and see if it's as soft as it looks!
Almost want to lean in and take a sniff, but I'm afraid I'll knock the waterdrops off!

A nearly undetectable background that doesn't at all compete with the star of this picture--the glistening rose. Masterful work here.
