Hi and Welcome to Classical Art Journey Week 23!
We'd love to see your studies of classical art.
Any media or skill level is welcome to participate on our journey.

If you have any questions, please ask.

This is a fun journey.
You are invited to join us!

To poke fun at myself, I am never the first one to come up with an idea.
Here we see a dog, a chair, a desk, a mess, and a man.
In my Quickie, I guess my man was out to lunch.

It’s interesting how artists explored their craft in the mid-late19th century.

Wilhelm Leibl (German, 1844-1900)

Hi Barbara, nice sensitive portrait study. I like the sweetness you have show in her posture. Her eyes show kindness. Very nice! Is she charcoal? I can never tell for sure. :) Oh, the artist Leibl is new to me too. Found him when reading about Duveneck. He has a way dosn't he? I like his style. Thank you for sharing with us this week! I like seeing what you create.

Hi to everyone else on our Journey. Hope you are finding a source to inspire your creative self. Sometimes, I know it is hard, it will all be ok. Take care, I will find someone to share with you that hopefully will make you smile.

My Best to you, Nickel

Thanks Girls! It is nice to try to match the values in the sketch. Helps to train the eyes to see values comparing the colors one to another while sketching. This is how I being working on my studies from life and this quick sketches helps too.

Another lovely head study Susan!

Also wanting to put in a black bear
