This is songwriter Townes Van Zandt, who died a couple of years ago. He's best known for writing "Pancho and Lefty".

Drawn with Fountain Pentel.

I don't know the songwriter Coyote, but I like your drawing.

I think you've caught a great expression on the face, and his eyes are really smiling too.

Nice drawing. I notice you have a lot of detail in the head and, although the shirt, guitar and hands are well defined, the detail is less there - which draws the eye back to the face. Very well done.

I will also add that the foreshortening of the guitar and the hand that holds it is perfect!

Nicely done coyote. I'm another who doesn't know the songwriter. His expression and hair are very well drawn :) Have you ever thought of coloring this piece??

I remember him. This is a good likeness, and I am glad you showed him with a guitar. So many of our great song writers have died fairly young. I still mourn the loss of Jim Crocie.
