Last week I went to Urchfont, A village in Wlitshire UK (as every yeay) with some painting friends of mine , amongst which are some fine artists.Although we were free to do what we wanted, the gtoup split into feree spirits, flower lainters, Portrait people etc. Woven into this was a series of demos - by me, Denis Pickles, Arvin Lamay, Judt Whitton and Kin Page. In the ebevings we entertaineed ourselves with a poetry evening and a music evening. I seem to have allocated the comic poetry event - I don't know why!!!!!!!!!!
Also during the week we were given an iluustrated talk by the daughter of the finest railway engine artist who ever lived - Terrance Cuneo. His trade mark was to put a little mouse somewhere in his paintings.
The week finishe with an exhibition of the work produced
A wonderful week all round except for 2 disasters
First- I deleted my photos by accident - these are from previous years but give a flavour of the occasion.
Second was that Tom Hansen (Wetcanvas), my old friend couldn't make it this year - he has a hospital appointment which could not be deferred
and this is one on Cuneos paintings

Arnold ,
Your Photos are wonderful . What a Lovely Village . The prettiest Buildings and woody areas too. Looks like it was pretty cold for painting outdoors . You are a hearty soul though .
Tell us who Cuneo is ? That is a Fabulous Train painting .
Is it a student of yours ?
Enjoy your Pics anytime , Wish you would always send them !

Hi Arnold
Im a bit late on this as I came back from London late last night. I hope you had better weather at Urchont than I had in London. 3 days with rain...

I hope you had a great time!!! Now I will dive into the gallery to look at your production down there...

Hi Nick
Yes it would be great if you could make t next year May 20 2007
Cuneo painted mainly in oils. His father was an american who was also a great artist and becaume Whistlers head student and died early at 37. He was stuck with a ladies hat pin accidentally and died of sceptisemia
He didn't realise how great a painter his son Terrence Cuneo was going to be.
Hs painting of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth 2 was amaking in its size, perspective (he viewed it from the top of the catherdral and the many people who sat for him to be fitted into it.
It is a truly great painting but i failed to find an image
Here are a few images from the web
