Got involved studying Da Vinci's work and tried the drape study ... freehand using the grid.

Marge, these kind of studies are so important. I used to do these to help me understand clothing in portraits. Great job!:)

Nice work, Marge. You've inspired me to make a fold challenge thread. I'll find some public domain images that we can use as reference and get it up today!

Hope you do it!:thumbsup: i think it's very important to get a good grip of the basics before going to difficult subjects!.....:)

Kareen...Thank you and I agree these little excercises are very important once I get it down good I am going to go back to the painting of the pope with the doves and redo his garments I never liked them and ended up erasing all of it so I could redo. :wave:

There's some old legend about a music school in India. That the students could only play one note...work at it over and over...one note...for the first year.

Interesting study, Marge. I can see the usefulness of such work. Not sure I am ready to try a challege though! :lol:

wonderful and yep, I have to practice this too. You really did a great job; you sure can find the folds...
