I always have lots of canvas scraps let over after doing a print job for someone and want to do a few aceos in oils. I was wondering what type of glue and support do you all use when painting aceo's on canvas?

Hi Tam, I use Aquahere PVA on mine, no problems. It's just like your Elmers over there.

Tamara, I don't think Elmers is acid-free. I use "Lineco" brand "neutral hp Adhesive' which is sold for bookbinding. I got mine locally, but, I'm sure it can be found at some of the larger online art materials vendors. I have also used acrylic matte medium as a glue and as a clear size. Just brush either produce liberally onto both surfaces, put together, and smooth out any air pockets. I then weight mine down over night under some heavy books. I usually do a large piece of canvas or linen scrap to a piece of neutral ph matboard, then cut to size after it is completely dry.

Tamara, like Kerry, I use the Lineco bookbinding adhesive to glue the canvas to a support----usually after the painting dries. I've also heard that acrylic medium is a good and archival means of adhering it.
