Wow, it's hot hot hot! I just had a little walk in the neighbourhood, and now I'm totally beat with a burning, red face and feet twice their usual size... ;) So the rest of today I'll stay inside with the balcony doors wide open and enjoying the light lilac-scented breeze that wafts in from outside and the chirping birds and the sound of leaves moving ever so slightly... :D

About the interview yesterday - just to be clear, it was just another temp agency with even worse conditions than the last one, and here all temp agencies only hire when they have a direct request for that person. So they add you to their database and offer you, but will not hire you until one of their clients wants you. But the interview gave me back some of my self-esteem, so that's worth something!

Tam - those roses look amazing, you're really really good at this!

Polly - I hope you'll find some means of transport to get to that shop today! Good luck with everything! :) And I like your name!

Claire - how's David feeling today? Don't know what yesterday's plant was, soz.

Pam - with the money you got back you should be able to get a macro lense... ;)

Dawn - I'm sure you will put your new press to good use! And don't forget to show us the first results! :)

Hollie - good luck with finding a decent place for those 3 weeks!

Today is the day!!! I have to say that yesterday was BAD!! Everyone sweet comments helped a BUNCH!!!!!!!!! Thank you ALL!! :heart: My sweet Hubby is taking a couple of hours off work this afternoon so he can take me over to the store!!!!!!!! YAY!!
I really hope they like my creations, but if they dont, there are other stores here!!!

Andee, that picture is hillarious! Great shot :) Glad you have some heat for a change. Today is Luke's Mother's Day Tea at school and it's pouring out. I guess it will all be inside this year.

Polly, I got to play a little and I worked on the house a lot. some rooms are getting there, others... will take quite some time. but it's ok. I posted a couple of shots on my blog from the new camera - I think the little lense may work just fine for now - no need for a real macro yet. :)

I walked both puppies to the post office yesterday and they did great! They still threw a huge fit when I tied them up and went inside but I think I will continue to take both. It breaks my heart when one has to stay here. Tonight is my bead meeting :clap: .

Hi everyone,

David is back home and feeling a lot better, still a bit queasy but no lasting harm. His mother died at 4.00 this morning, all very sad but really only to be expected, after the stroke she couldn't have recovered. I'll be quite glad when this week is over.

Tam, I'm relieved that you're not eating all your cakes, though they must be very hard to resist. I had fears for your wedding dress

Jaya, did you get your punches?

Pam, I'm so pleased you're enjoying your new camera. I had to study photography at college but I hated it.

Dawn, sounds like the pups are getting on well now, that will make your life easier.

Hollie, good luck with the hotel search, do they let out university accommodation cheaply in the summer over there like they do here?

Andee, that flamingo is a hoot. It's baking hot here too, but set to turn nasty for the weekend. Enjoy your lilacs.

Andee, you sound like me after a bit of time in the sun. It just drains me. Your photo is great today. I love flamingos and have painted them in the past. This would certainly make an interesting composition....lol

Pam, I like your studio set up. I wish I had more room, but that will have to wait until I get the money to have an addition put on the house. I looked through your blog and all the pictures past the one of Luke are not showing:( I like your flower pics.

I took Peaches to the vet today for a teeth cleaning, and later this morning I have to take papa to Wal Mart to sign up for Medicare Part D. Their prescription plan is less than what I am paying for AARP's plan, but it is just right for papa. He has only had one prescription in his whole life and that was when he had shingles last year. That is pretty good for an 87 year old man.

super quick drive-by HI :wave: to everyone!

got tons of things to do today - make my 18 small leaves, 2 big leaves, and perhaps a bronze age bead. i'm late paying some of my bills (like the mortgage - yikes!!), so i need to do that. and we're getting our car back today. sheesh, it's been in the shop for over a month. remember that car accident my hubby had where he got rearended at a stop light? yeah, that was a long time ago! i'll have to learn how to drive my car all over again.

here's my fur kid peanut, picture taken by hubby at starbucks the other day. i just love this poochie.

Hello!

I have to do a vent today, my health insurance really doesn't like me. I submitted my claims for physiotherapy over a month ago, and waited and waited... yesterday they sent them all back to me, stating that I need to submit my recmendation from the doctor for them to file it...Thanks for telling me that in the first place!!! Now I have to get a Dr appointment for no reason just to get a little piece of paper because of course I threw out the slip a month ago Grrrrr!:evil: and the Ironic thing is that since I don't have enough money to go to physio at the moment (becuse I should have gotten the money back by now) my elbow is getting worse, which means more physio, which will in the end cost the insurance company more money... Does this make sense?!?

Ok I'm done now

I am very happy it is friday. I found the funniest Mothersday card for my grandmum, I have to write her a letter right away and send it off. I haven't gotten a hotel room at all and may have to switch my dates to the end of july if this luck keeps going...I'm sure glad I have not yet bought plane tickets!

Pam, I'm going to be in Seattle in early July (my sister is moving there this very moment) so I will have to get from you the locations of all of the good bead stores!
