My palette comprises:
Winton permanent alizarin crimson
Winton cadmium red hue
Grumbacher cadmium yellow hue
Van Gogh cadmium lemon azo
Grumbacher cerulean blue hue
Winton French ultramarine blue
Winton titanium white.

I'm new to this business and my difficulty in achieving proper values may have to do with my recent question posting about 'hue' in a paint label.

Well, given the answers there, I guess I just lucked out the alizarin and ultramine blue.

Look forward to any advice regarding the palette as well as the metal tones.

Thanks

I have had real good luck using either a grisalle or monochromatic raw umber underpainting, followed by thin glazes of the colors I see.

My attempts are still not perfect, but that technique has proven to be a step in the right direction.
