Decided to try again painting 'Florence Nightingale' taken by 'monthsailor' in RIL. Gave it an impressionist look. Done in painter ix :)

This has a nice look. I really like the colors used in the skintones.

Kareen this is fantastic!... her left cheek might be sticking out a little too far, flattening out her face a little.;)

Kareen georgous work! Perhaps if you lightened the outermost part of her left cheek it would round out her face more. I think that the light would naturally hit there.

I like that Kareen, I think better without the eye makeup and the shawl over her shoulder lies better.

I like this brighter version but I liked the bg on the first one LOL

Karee, the shape of the face is much improved. If you're going to place a cast shadow on the background, make sure it stays true to your light source. It really shouldn't show on all sides of the model. You're doing great!:)

Lovely work. I actually like the muted tone of the original, but go for what works for you. Tell us some more about your technique and ideas?
Barry, Marge, Joel and TWTom thks for the comments and observations...
I kept working trying to correct some things. It seems the shawl bothers a bit?...ok,,,:-) here goes another version....perhaps it's overdone.....
