Thank you Jean and Skinny

Here is an update adding more colors in the skin and roughly did the hat so I could get a feel for the shadows. Don't know if it is helping me LOL

Hmmm.....i'll go for a bagel and a coffee and sit here....and wait for more advances.....promises to be a good portrait.....:) Is my idea or you've changed somehow your technique (it has a more watercolor feeling than your last pieces)?

Played around with this some more this evening after watering ;o)
I am having an awful time with his shadow of beard ... the poor kid has had to shave 2 and sometimes 3 times a day since he was 17 so you can imagine how heavy a beard he has leaving a shadow even 30 min. after shaving. LOL

It's shaping very nicely, Marge...:) The beard shadow can be a real bugger, but I think you've got it under control.

Coming along great Marge. You seem to do better with your family than I do.

Thank you Jean , Skinny and Sherry
I have turned off the bg not sure at all that I like it mainly because he has alot of light coming from the side since it is outside and the bg I thought was too dark to simulate that. So back to ground level with that. LOL Defined some more areas of his face.
