Love the heavily saturated colors, and the way you suggest details of the jacket without falling into "photo realism". I'm learning a lot by studying your work, Barry. THANKS for being here! :p

Bare, very nice. The vibrant contrasts really make your painting lively. Very interesting background too. Good work!:)

Marge and Annie, Thanks for your encouragement, I think I'm beginning to get the hang of the brush, jitter and opacity are the key, once I've laid some colour with another brush.

Thanks Joel. I have noticed that his coat doesn't appear to run properly round his neck, which I have now altered in my master copy (it dipped on our left). Also there was a funny line on his jumper whcih I've altered.

I love how this came out. Your vivid colors made it more interesting than the original photo. I have no understanding of how someone does a portrait or painting on the computer, but the work that comes out is beautiful. I usually hang out in "portraiture". You show cross post this there- I am sure others would love seeing this. There are a number of excellent digital portrait artist there as well.

As much as I like the color, I like the textures more. Nice job.

Great job Barry. Really nice texture on his garments.

Digi & Sherry, thanks. I'm glad you liked the attempts at texture, it pleases me more to obtain different textures with the same brush, than swopping brushes to get specific results.
