This portrait was just for practice... My goal was to finish it in one session... so the detail suffers a bit. Had fun though.:) Paint on!!!

I like it :) Do you apply texture afterwards just to see the effect, or do you paint with it in you brush as grain?

Hi guys!... I almost didn't post this portrait because it's so "unpolished". Judging by your responses, i'm thinking "unpolished" isn't always a bad thing.

Sara, the texture is built into the acrylic brush strokes.

Jean, I don't have anything too fancy... just a small Graphire and the regular stylus. Every week I think about upgrading, but I never do.

I sure do appreciate you people.:)

Another nice one Joel. I have a question for you though. Have you printed out any of these done with this brush on canvas, and if so did the result turn out as well as you expected?

Your sample size texture looks good, but the complete painting when downsized, it has a sandy texture too it. It loses the paint look. Just a personal preference of course but I miss the brush you used to use.

This question has been lingering in my mind too! I am just starting to get into digital art, and I'd love to hear Joel's response. Perhaps I will PM him and see if I can get his thoughts. I'll post back here if I can steal some info from him.... hee hee
