Hello Everyone!
I'm a newbie. My name is Jodie aka superstar. I have enjoyed reading the posts and learning from them. Thank you all.

I was curious to know if anyone knows what colors Tamara de Lempicka used on her palette and what techniques she used to paint. I read somewhere online that Lempicka used to paint a monochrome underpainting and build up color with glazes.

I am attempting to paint the girl in a green dress. I am using acrylics. I am a plasterer so I plastered a piece of blueboard and graphed and copied my picture onto it, it is roughly 28"wx38"h.
My hope is to someday paint murals and trompe 'oeil in peoples homes so that is why I am using plastered blueboard to practice on.
I would greatly appreciate any information, tips and advice.

Thank you

Welcome to WetCanvas, Jodie! Have you tried a google search on Lempicka's name to see if you can find out anything about her palette?

Hi RoseQueen!
Thank you for the welcome.
I have done searches on google and the closest information I could find was a web site that compared Lempicka with Picasso
http://www3.sympatico.ca/manideli/critique.htm which has a comment on the fact that both painters used a "modern palette".

Thanks for the suggestion.
I guess I should post a new question just asking for suggestions on how to go about painting the pic. since I suppose that is all I really want to know.

Thanks for your help.
