Excellent work Deirdre! I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't the photo you had posted.

Excellent Deirdre........ I too had to look twice thinking it was the ref image - great job, lots of activity - love the sky and clouds are especially well done, and the lighter blue on them is just perfect - just two teeny nit picks if I may .... tone down just a tad the whiteness of the house of the left, the other, .... the mast just off centre from the centre... wasnt too sure what the lighter colour was..... a sail..... but I think it is the side of the building, perhaps define that more..... lighten the mast and set the building more behind..... but this may be more apparent in real ....... and just bring out the headland bushes, just a stroke past the white mast..... they kiss

Well done indeed .......... so much going on in this pic..... how long did it take you

...... so ok, that was three ;)

Hello Deirdre,

What a lovely painting, I like the angle, its taken from the east side of the swing bridge.

Unfortunately there is construction work where the yachts are now. Building a new jetty and housing for the Lifeboat.

I've got some great photos of Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Sandsend; I must post them in the RIL.

Kindest regards

I sat here waiting for the painting to load, thinking that what came up was the reference pic. You did a super job on the whole piece. I love the clouds and the reflections in the water are perfect.

I thought it was the photo too. Beautiful work. I especially like where
you put that dark spot of water it looks so wet. I visited Whitby once for
a workshop, but the instructor got sick so I couldn't do it. But it was
a lovely little place to stay.
